Great post, Brooke. Don't forget about using #jewishgenealogy on Twitter. That is a valuable one to use as well and really targets the correct audience. Tracing the Tribe also uses that hashtag when blogging and twittering from the annual IAJGS conferences. It reaches a much different audience of people who don't even know about the conference. So add #jewishgenealogy to your tweets.

Sounds like a great idea to invite the two authors. Never thought about how Hollywood helped genealogical searches, but it sounds like it will open new avenues. Regarding Odessa, it's a rich Jewish community worthy of a lecture.
Shalom, Yitzchak Kerem

Might you consider inviting two local authors of international reputation to speak at the conference? 1. Neal Gabler, "An Empire of Their Own: How the Jews Invented Hollywood"; and 2. Robert Rosenstone, among his many titles are "The King of Odessa" and "The Man Who Swam Into History" both involving extensive genealogical research. Few know more about the Jewish experience vis a vis the film industry than these two scholars.

Welcome fellow Genealogists! A special invitation and welcome to Litvaks. Our SIG programs,
luncheon, meeting and social events the Philadelphia Conference were outstanding and well
attended.

Our planning for the 2010 Los Angeles Conference is underway, and we expect to offer even more
opportunities for beginning, intermediate and experienced Litvak researchers- including a workshop on the use of the LitvakSIG online resources for research.

Ideas about the LitvakSIG program offerings, workshops, invited speakers, birds-of-a-feather
groups are welcome.
